About Joanta
Joanta Holmes, LMFT-A, is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate who works with adolescents, adults, couples, parents, and families. She provides a warm, practical, and relational approach to therapy, helping clients better understand the experiences and patterns influencing their emotions, relationships, and everyday lives. Joanta works with clients navigating trauma and PTSD, anxiety, emotional regulation, relationship and communication difficulties, family conflict, grief and loss, parenting challenges, life transitions, self-esteem, and family-of-origin concerns. She has a particular interest in helping individuals and families recognize and change unhealthy relational and generational patterns.
Her approach is collaborative and tailored to each client’s needs. Joanta draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Family Systems Therapy, Narrative Therapy, EMDR, and Gottman-informed interventions. Therapy may include exploring past experiences, identifying patterns that are no longer working, strengthening emotional regulation, and developing healthier ways of communicating and connecting. Joanta believes therapy should help clients do more than understand what is happening—it should create opportunities for healing, growth, and meaningful change. When desired by the client and clinically appropriate, she is also comfortable incorporating faith and spirituality into therapy while respecting each client’s individual beliefs and values.
Joanta holds a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and is an LMFT Associate in Texas. Her additional training and professional experience include trauma-focused care, EMDR, emotional intelligence, and life coaching. If you are struggling with trauma, anxiety, relationships, family dynamics, or a major life transition—or simply want to understand yourself and your relationships more deeply—Joanta offers a supportive space to begin that work.
